Aquasentry offers a bund relining service to ensure your facility complies with legislation.
The Control of Pollution (oil storage) Regulations 2001 stipulate that an oil-tight secondary containment system, such as a bund, must have the capacity and integrity to contain a leak should one occur.
PPG2 states bunds must be protected with a lining to make it impermeable to oil and water, and there should be no direct outlet.
To ensure compliance it is essential that any defects identified in the bund wall or lining are repaired promptly.
At Aquasentry we use glass reinforced plastic (GRP) linings to give new life to damaged and eroded bunds providing a long term secure environment for your tank storage.
GRP is an economical, versatile and hardwearing material, often installed at a fraction of the cost of rebuild. It can be combined with different resins and additives to offer chemical resistance to the most aggressive environment.
GRP offers a high strength to weight ratio as well as excellent impact resistance and good dimensional stability. It is seamless, easy to clean and non-corrosive.
Unlike cement, GRP is weatherproof so it can be used externally and requires virtually zero maintenance.
