Oil and lubricant supplier

An oil supplier had two bunds that were in a state of disrepair. The bunds contained more than 3 million litres of volatile substance and required extensive works to bring them to the required standards in line with the Oil Storage Regulation 2001.

To achieve compliance, Aquasentry lined the bund in a 2mm HDPE liner, while using fire-proof sealant to ensure maximum site safety. As well as applying a 50mm thick pea-gravel substance, we ensured the bund was de-watered by an intrisically safe Bund Water Control Unit capable of operating within zone 0 and 1 conditions.

We also offered training in spill response procedures for the relevant members of staff on site and provided the correct Spill Kits for site. 

Solution provided

A full Environmental Assessment was carried out to identify the site's requirements. The bunds were relined, a Bund Water Control Unit was used and full spill training was given.
