Incident Management
If a spill could not be contained or if a leak were to remain undetected and ground pollution was to occur then we can draw on a specialist team experienced in soil and groundwater remediation design, implementation and regulatory sign-off.
Undetected leaks or un-contained spills can result in the pollution of soils and groundwater. We have access to a team of soil and groundwater specialists who can assess the significance of pollution and advise on the appropriate measures necessary to limit its spread in the sub-surface.
If there is a legal obligation to inform regulators (e.g. the Environment Agency or local Environmental Health officer) about the pollution; the team can advise on this process, what information they would expect and if necessary they can lead on any on-going regulatory negotiation.
The team have extensive experience of managing sub-surface pollution incidents for a variety of chemicals and fuels; involving site characterisation, remediation design and supervision; and attaining regulatory sign-off which is an essential element to ensure that no future liabilities remain.
