Q. How far can the control panel be set from the valve?

A. The valve can be placed up to 50 metres away from the bladder enabling the valve to be situated in risk areas with all the controls well outside the area.

Q. Do you carry out servicing of the unit?

A. We offer a parts inclusive and parts exclusive maintenance and service contact. Please contact us for full details of our maintenance service.

Q. Do you offer a commissioning only service?

A. Again, we are happy to commission the units but still require the units to be fitted by an approved competant person.

Q. How long will the bladder stay inflated?

A. The bladder will stay inflated for a minimum of 48 hours giving plenty of time for clean up services to arrive and empty the drainage system or put other devices in place.

Q. What is the minumum size of the Unibund?

A. The Unibund can be built from a minimum size of 3m x 3m.

Q. Can the unit be connected to a BMS unit?

A. Our bund water control units can be linked that a BMS (building management system) through the use of the units volt free contacts.

Q. Please could you explain the general operation of the interceptor alarms?

A. An interceptor alarm is used to monitor to level of oil, and liquid level, in a drains interceptor. Please click here for a flash demonstration of the unit in action.

Q. How many probes can be used on the interceptor alarm

A. Aquasentry can offer up to three probes on our interceptor alarm. As well as the standard oil probe, we can offer a high level probe and high silt probe.

Q. What PPG does this product relate to?

Q. What kind of warranty is supplied with your kit?

A. On a parts that are supplied by Auqasentry, but not installed, we offer a 12- month return to base warrany. For all units that are installed and/or commissioned by our engineers, we offer a 12-month on site warranty.

Q. What power options are avail for the unit?

A. This unit is available in either a 240v mains powered unit, or solar unit.

Q. Can this bund be fitted around existing tanks?

A. This unit can be retrofitted around existing tanks by attaching the liner to either an existing plinth or tank base.

Q. Can the BWCU be used in Zone 0 conditions?

A. We can offer a bund water control unit that can be used within zone 0 conditions. The control panel itself must be situated outside the zone but the pump and probe set can be used in such conditions

Q. Can we install this product ourself?

A. We recommend that the product is fitted by an approved competant person (confirmed by Aquasentry) in order to authenticate that the unit has been installed and commissioned correctly, and upgrade the warranty to an on site warranty, as apposed to a return to base warranty.

Q. Is the unit intrisically safe?

A. Our units are intrinsically safe due to the fact that are installed more than 1.5m above the manhole. They have been designed to be installed without the need for confined space equipment.

Q. What kind of HDPE Liner is used on the unit?

A. As standard, we use a 2mm think HDPE liner.

Q. What is the bladder made from?

A. The outer skin of the bladder is nylon impregnated with polythene for most applications. However the bladder material can be varied dependent on application and what product is likely to be spilt. It is helpful for us the have COSHH sheets on the product. Bladders over 375mm (15") are made from neoprene.

Q. What are the operating pressures?

A. The system operates on a maximum of 2 bar, reducing for larger bladders.

Q. Do you adivse on a dewatering product for the bund?

A. We advise that a bund water control unit is used to dewater the unibund, whilst retaining any pollutnat within.

Q. What is the comparable cost of the unit in comparision to brick built bunds?

A. The unibund can reduce bunding costs by up to 40%.

Q. Can the unit be decommissioned and reinstalled?

A. The unit can be removed and reinstalled at another location

Q. What is the flow rate/ head of the pump used on the BWCU?

A. The pumps used on the Bund Water Control Units work at up to 165l/m on a standard unit and 235l/m on a large unit. This is at up to a 3m or 5m head.

Q. What is the minimm size of the sump needed for the bund water control unit?

A. The minimum size of the sump for a bund water control unit is 300mm x 300mm x 300mm, but we advise that a size of 600mm x 600mm x 600mm be used to enable the probe unit to sit flush.

Q. What is PPM (parts per million) output of the BWCU?

A. The bund water control unit emits between 2 – 4 parts per million of oil/water ratio. This has previously passed a DEMOS test to confirm in conforms to this.
