Closure devices run off a solar panel and 12-volt battery. The battery inflates a bladder – filled by a pump or a gas canister, depending on its size – which in turn blocks the pipe, ensuring no product finds its way into any watercourse.

The GPRS-enabled system can be operated via a mobile phone, landline, integrated computer receiver, or locally at the unit itself.

The system uses a solar panel to continuously charge the battery, so installation costs are significantly reduced. The battery level can be checked via the GPRS communication.
